2023 Christmas ParadeThank you Highland and Timber Creek High Schools Interact Students and Advisors for making the floats and participating in the parade this year. The Highland Wrestling Team stepped up to help build Highland's float and the Highland High School Parade Participants really stepped up when they gave Timber Creek High School the use of their assigned generator. None of this would have been possible without the Gloucester Township Department of Public Works providing us the garage space to build the floats and the use of a generator. Thank you to the Gloucester Township Police Department escort to the parade assembly location. |

American Credit Union Food DonationThank you to American Heritage Federal Credit Union's Glendora Branch for sharing some of the food they collected in their Food Drive with our Club for use in our Pantry Boxes. Rotarian and Branch Manager Dana Pinto brought the food for distribution to needy families. |

Chef Josh FriendsgivingChef Josh from Timber Creek HS hosted a “Friendsgiving” last week, teaching the culinary students how to prepare a Thanksgiving meal. Our club provided the funds for the food. The students did the work. |

Denise has had a substantial impact on our club. Among her any accomplishments, she obtained grant money to sustain us through the pandemic and she is the driving force behind our Food Pantry program. She is a very valuable member of our club. |

In Memorium - James W. Lilley, Jr.Our Club suffered a great loss with the passing of founding member James W. Lilley, Jr.. He had an accomplished career and a rewarding retirement. Jim brought a wealth of institutional knowledge and humor to our meetings. He will be missed.

Farrows Run – Clean the Stream – Earth DayThe Gloucester Township-Pine Hill Rotary is partnering with the B.A.R (Blackwood Area Revitalization) to organize a clean-up day of Farrows Run. The Interact Clubs from Highland and Timber Creek High schools will be attending and volunteering their efforts to “Clean the Stream” on Earth Day, Friday April 22, 2022 with an April Showers date of April 24th. The club will meet at Meadows Diner for a quick breakfast and an educational lesson from local environmental author, Brian Burns. Meadows Diner is graciously donating breakfast for the Interact Club members. The public is welcome to join for a cash breakfast starting at 9am. Public participation from Gloucester Township residents assisting us with the clean-up efforts starting at 10:15am, meeting in Meadows Diner Parking lot. We ask those participating and arriving by car to park on Lake Ave to leave parking for patrons of the diner. We are also seeking donations of -Lawn/Leaf Bags -Trash Bags -Work Gloves -Twine -Yard Tools (Specifically – Loppers / Pruners) for clearing out overgrown weeds and dead tree branches If you would like to donate supplies before hand, please reach out to B.A.R. via email at 08012org@gmail.com |

Rotary International on VaccinesRotary International and The Rotary Foundation’s position statement on COVID-19 vaccination As the first organization to envision a polio-free world through mass immunization of children, Rotary believes the decision to vaccinate is a humanitarian imperative. The Rotary International Board of Directors and Rotary Foundation Trustees believe that: 1) Global vaccination is the path to ending the pandemic, and we strongly encourage vaccination for all individuals, including our members. 2) Misinformation hinders the fight against COVID-19, and we are committed to providing our members with science-based information. 3) Rotary is engaged in assuring equity in vaccine access to all people. Through joint efforts with Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance we are leveraging our frontline experience with polio to facilitate vaccine delivery. 4) Rotary salutes health care workers everywhere as they continue to provide lifesaving services. We encourage clubs to offer recognition and encouragement to these heroes. 5) Rotary and Rotaract clubs are encouraged to redouble their efforts to support COVID-19 prevention and vaccination efforts. 6) As one of the greatest advances of modern medicine, vaccines are safe, effective and save millions of lives each year. They have eliminated or controlled numerous diseases such as polio, smallpox, measles, and Ebola, and now, there is the opportunity to end the COVID-19 pandemic through vaccination. 7) The eradication of polio remains the goal of the highest order for Rotary. We can continue to apply the lessons we have learned in fighting polio to COVID-19 response efforts. |

Food PantriesThe Club made three mini food pantries for placement at Highland Regional High School, Timber Creek Regional High School, and Overbrook High School. We hope the Interact Clubs at the schools will keep them stocked for those in need in these difficult times. The North American Comedy Tour Comes to Gloucester TownshipThe Gloucester Township Rotary Foundation is hosting the North American Comedy Tour at their Beef & Beer Event on Saturday, September 30th. Come out for a night of laughs with Comedians John Harris, Brian Jenkins, Chris Williams, Natalie Levant and Paul Ward. Ticket prices are only $45 and includes dinner, desserts, beer and wine, and can be purchased from any member of the Gloucester Township-Pine Hill Rotary Club. Plaques on Shelves Purchased for LibraryPresident Elect Steven Bogan placed Club name plates on the shelves purchased by our Foundation with a District Grant. Steve handled the paperwork required to obtain the grant and took the lead in assembling the items. The name plates were made by Highland High School students.
